  • "The Pot" is equal €10 x number of players.  The winner, "Last Man Standing" receives half "The Pot" with the rest going to a Mayo Gaels GAA fundraising cause.

  • Once a selection is made, you will not have the ability to change it.
  • You may not pick the same team to win more than once during the tournament (unless the tournament progresses past a full cycle).
  • All selections must be received no later than midday on the Friday of the first match of the week.
  • Should you forget to make your selection in any week, you will automatically be assigned the first team that you have not selected in alphabetical order. Once a team is automatically selected, you will not have the ability to change the selection.
  • In the event that any match involving a team you have selected is postponed or cancelled for any reason, you will continue to the next round. However, that team will no longer be available for selection.
  • Should two or more participants remain standing and all are eliminated in the same week, the Last Man Standing prize will be distributed equally among them.
  • Rounds of fixtures may take place on weekends or mid-week, depending on available fixtures. However, in general, midweek rounds do not count and will not be used in the tournament, Alan Prendergast will decide which fixtures are included for each round.
  • Should a Tournament not have reached a conclusion by the end of the Season, the Tournament will continue on in to the next Season. Any relegated teams that you had not selected yet will be lost, but promoted teams will then be available.
  • Alan Prendergast (for Mayo Gaels GAA club) reserves the right to amend these rules at anytime. Any such revision will be binding and effective immediately on posting of notification of such changes on the web site. Your continued use of this game will constitute acceptance of the rules.

PAST GAMES

English Premier League; Last Man Standing Competition

Welcome to Round 1 of the Mayo Gaels LMS for the 2017 - 2018 Premier League season.

Gameweek 1 was a tough one for most of us with 27 dropping out.  Jose's United are ploughin' on and City are just poxy.
23 players remaining.

Gameweek 2 sees 10 of us opting for Arsenal. WTF? The world is gone crazy.  There are however seven other teams selected so there are some level heads out there.  In fact 8 different teams selected, so I guess there had to be a few casualties.  As it turned out, 9 players hit the dirt.  It was head-to-head between Padraig J and John James in the last game Monday night with John James's West Ham putting a stop to The Terriers' unbeaten run.

11 more dropped out in Gameweek 3 with Spurs once again failing to live up to expectations.  We must ban them from this game... :(
Paul The Dub has had a great week with Man U winning and The Dubs breaking Mayo hearts again on Sunday.

3 left going into Gameweek 4. and 2 of them go for Spurs... WTF.. no lessons learned !!!  However King Keane steps up and delivers once again.
All 3 survive into the next round.

In Gameweek 5 we lost our Dub.  He was outdone by gang of Irish lads on the Clarets side.
So, it's head-to-head between JJ and Eamonn.

After the International Break, Gameweek 6 proved to be the end of the road for this round.  Crystal Palace got an unlikely first win of the year against the reigning champions Chelsea.  So our two Last Men Standing get to split the pot of €250.  Congrats lads.

English Premier League; Last Man Standing Competition

This is Round 3 of our Mayo Gaels LMS for the 2016 - 2017 Premier League season.

Round One was a great success with 46 entrants and the last four standing all going out on Gameweek 7.
Round Two was even better, a record breaking 11 weeks of nail-biting suspense with two of the Round 1 winners again making it to the end.  This time however, Johnny Morrin showed the class that has made him a legend on and off the pitch.  Well Done Johnny.

And on we go with Round 3 of the 2016 - 2017 campaign.

Gameweek 1 was a nervous one for the City folk but our faith in Jesus was restored in added time. Just 3 fallers out of the 42.... not a bad start.

Gameweek 2 was a tough one for the Heneghan house with Chelsea letting the two lads down.  The Arsenal upheld the faith placed on them (somehow...) and our posse of Fallons at Old Trafford made sure of their survival..... Charlie was fuming all the way home.....

Gameweek 3 had just 8 fixtures due to Cup final.  15 of the 31 remaining went for Chelski..... wisely, as it turned out. The big surprise was The Pool getting a whuppin' from the reigning champions....

Gameweek 4 was back to 10 fixtures with 27 Still Standing.  11 of which went for Man U.... the poor souls.....

Gameweek 5 was St Patrick's weekend and saw 3 fall to bring our little gang to 11.

Gameweek 6 was a bit of a shocker with 8 of our remaining 11 going down.

Gameweek 7 was a midweek one and proved to be the last.  Liverpool let Jack and Noel down and The Foxes earned yours truly top price... Nice!!.

English Premier League; Last Man Standing Competition

Welcome to the Mayo Gaels LMS for the 2016 - 2017 Premier League season.

Round One was a great success with 46 entrants and the last four standing all going out on Gameweek 7.
Round Two kicks off on Week 13 of the Premiership, the weekend of Nov 26th and 27th 2016.

41 Players joined up for Gameweek 1 with big hopes. However 3 were left "kicking water bottles" and the Champions could only muster a draw with a late penalty.  Down to 35.

Gameweek 2 brought us into the festive season with over half of us banking on Spurs to topple The Swans, and so they did in style.  Six of us, however, could not have seen The Pool collapse in such dramatic fashion.

27 still standing going into Gameweek 3 with Chelski the top favorite to progress...and they didn't disappoint.

Gameweek 4 and it was a quick turnaround for the midweek fixtures.  That didn't phase our players though as ALL 23 survived into Gameweek 5

Gameweek 5 and the pickings are getting slim.  11 have gone for The Hammers to do a number on Hull.... and Liverpool get a late strike to save Noel.

21 into Gameweek 6 right in the middle of the festive season, with most of our Christmas hopes on Man U.

Hard luck to Niall, our only victim in Gameweek 6.
20 Standing for Gameweek 7 where The Gunners got the bulk of the votes, and they didn't disappoint. The 8 of us on Everton and Southampton were not so fortunate :(

Gameweek 8 brings an end to a hectic three rounds of games in 10 days, costing us 12 players.

9 were standing going into Gameweek 9 with 5 teams selected. With Stoke the early leader, it looked like Gavin was in the money. However Joey Barton came on with immediate impact and saved Mr Morrin's bacon.

Gameweek 10 was a straight shootout between Gavin and Johnny. It looked like Mr Morrin was on a winner early on but "Good ol' Seamus Coleman" popped up and secured a win for Everton.

On we go to a RECORD BREAKING Gameweek 11.  Our longest LMS so far.
Johnny Morrin and Gavin Murphy duked it out for a second week with Palace coming up trumps for Johnny.

Congrats Johnny and never mind those losers looking for free drink !!!

English Premier League; Last Man Standing Competition

This was Round One LMS for the 2016 - 2017 season.

Gameweek 1 was pretty predictable, however we still lost 8 players.  Outside the top 3 & Arsenal, Mr Malee correctly predicted The Foxes to pick up their 1st win.  Well done sir...

After an international break Gameweek 2 was dominated by The Gunners. Chelsea was the tipping point for 8 of us. 23 go to next level.

Gameweek 3 had just one casualty with Jose still trying to work out how to pick his best team.  Hard luck Ciaran.

With the 1st Half of the All Ireland Final over, we got stuck into Gameweek 4 with most of us on The Pool.  Fair play to Klopp's army.  Not one casualty this week.

Gameweek 5 was a total wipe-out with 16 getting the drop.  It was all a bit lost in the misery of another All Ireland defeat, but all we can do is get the heads down and plough on.  17 MO SAM

After the International Break the last 6 standing were ready to do battle in Gameweek 6 with 5 different teams selected.  Nacer Chadli spoiled the Tottenham party and knocked Derek and Enda out.

Four troopers were shot down in Gameweek 7 with both Everton and Spurs failing to win.

Well done on The Last Four Standing and thank you to ALL for your support.

We will kick-off a new game once all the "P's" are in place below......

English Premier League; Last Man Standing Competition

This was the LMS game for the latter end of the 2015 - 2016 season.....

Gameweek 1 was a nervous one for most of us with super-sub Leonardo Ulloa saving the day at the death in the King Power Stadium while Spurs had to come from behind to beat The Swans.  So only one loser in Gameweek 1 in our biggest LMS ever.  Hard Luck Ray!!!

Gameweek 2 sees 12 fallers and most of the survivors celebrating City's hammering of the Hammers.

Gameweek 3 had only 6 matches due to postponements. Spurs & Leicester were the top selections, if you could you picked one of them, EXCEPT, that is, for the bould Larry with his inspired selection of Bournemouth....nice!!!!

Gameweek 4 and The Swans didn't disappoint. Chelski and West Brom took out 10 of us, including yours truly :(, with Liverpool somehow blowing a 2 goal lead.....Derek was sweating but smiling at the end.      13 fallers in all with 23 Still Standing.

In Gameweek 5 Arsenal and Chelsea topped the selections & Siobhan took a wise punt with Man U.  A couple of draws knocked out 5 of us to leave 18 Standing going into Gameweek 6.

Gameweek 6 was about putting the faith in The Saints, and they didn't disappoint.  The Swans, on the other hand cause some disappointment for the 3 who went for Chelsea..... "it looked like a safe one...."

In Gameweek 7 13 out of 15 went for Man U and survived. The other two played off against each other and Cyril was smiling.

In Gameweek 8 our faith in Mr Klopp was severely dented.

No fallers in Gameweek 9, a big Congratulations to Leicester. Let's see who'll be our LMS Champion.

Gameweek 10 saw our remaining 4 heroes go into uncharted territory. Fair play to Adrian, Conor, Cyril and Jack for getting so far but that was where it all ended. A Pot-Split between the last 4.

English Premier League; Last Man Standing Competition

LMS comp held in Jan / Feb 2016.

GAMEWEEK 1 selections were dominated by Spurs and City, and they didn't let us down.
While nobody's team lost, 10 unlucky peeps had draws. Them's the breaks I guess....

GAMEWEEK 2 was all about The Toffees to put down the Swans.....however Ayew's goal saw 50% of our remaining players
go crashing out of this competition.  Talk about carnage !!!

GAMEWEEK 3 and then there were FIVE. The Foxes continue their dream season with a hammering of Citah.

GAMEWEEK 4 saw most of us opting for The Toffees against West Brom, however it was Paul "The Dub" Murtagh with a shrewd Chelsea pick in the late kick-off that came out on top.

Well done Paul.....

LMS game held from October to December 2015.

Gameweek 1 was all about City.
Gameweek 2 was a tough one.  18 players knocked out with Stoke City being the main culprits..
Gameweek 3 was about City "again", if you had 'em, you used 'em.  (Except for one cagey boyo... watch him!!)
Gameweek 4 had just one casualty with Siobhan's faith in "The Toffees" bringing her down.
Gameweek 5 saw Chelsea get a long awaited win, much to the relief of 5 of our players
Gameweek 6 was when Klopp's army scraped by on a penalty and David was unlucky to lose out on a 95th min goal...
Gameweek 7, 50% of us prayed that The Saints would be kind, but it wasn't to be.

Gameweek 8 and We Have A Winner !!!

Congratulations to Jarlath ( & Ryan) who played a storming game and are our Last Men Standing
