Patrick Murphy- World Handball U19 Doubles Champion

Congratulations to our own clubman Patrick Murphy on winning gold in the World Handball U19 Doubles grade while representing the Claremorris Handball Club. We are very honoured that our parish is so well represented by such a talented athlete.

Mayo Gaels Fun Run

Our Annual Mayo Abbey 4k/8k Fun Run & Walk is taking place on the 12th of May this year with a start time of 7.00pm. Registration on the day from 6.00pm.

We had an amazing turn out last year and are looking forward to seeing you all there again this year.

All proceeds from the event go to Mayo Gaels Bord na nOg.

Mayo Intermediate Championship Round 1

Mayo Gaels will play Belmullet in the first round of the 2018 Championship tomorrow (Sunday 8th) at the Connacht Centre Of Excellence in Bekan. Throw in is at 2.00pm.

The Senior team management & players have put a huge effort into preparing for tomorrow's championship game and your support for the lads will be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations to Adam Gallagher who lined out at corner forward for Mayo last Saturday evening(24th Feb) when they played Dublin in Elverys McHale Park. The game finished Dublin 2:10 Mayo 0:12.

Mayo Gaels "National Draw" Results

Results of Mayo Gaels 'National Draw' Prize night, as held in Malachy Byrnes last Friday, 16th of February:

First prize (one night b&b stay in the Mulranny Park Hotel) was won by Tom Basquill, Manulla;

Second prize (dinner voucher for McWilliam Park Hotel, Claremorris) was won by Jacinta Walsh, Castlelucas, Ballyglass;

The third prize, a €50.00 Elverys Voucher, was won by Martha Kavanagh, Brownhall, Balla.

The Club Committee congratulate the prize winners and also extend a sincere thanks to everyone who bought a 'National Draw' ticket in the past weeks.

Every household in the parish bought a ticket. The support and good luck we received was greatly appreciated and augers well for the future of Gaelic Games in the local community.
