Parish league rescheduled until next Sunday November 7th
The U-8 and U-10 parish leagues due to be played on Sunday has been rescheduled until next Sunday November 7th at 1pm.

Parish leagues on Sunday October 31st
The U-8 and U-10 parish leagues will take place in Abbey Park on Sunday 31st October weather permitting. The clubs AGM will take place in the clubhouse on Sunday November 28th at 4pm.

Brave performance from minors not enough. Mayo Gaels 1-8 Ballinrobe 1-14
The curtain came down on the competitive football season at McHale Park on Sunday when despite a brave performance our minor team lost out to a physically stronger Ballinrobe team in the County C final. The final score was 1-14 to 1-8. Full Match Report.

County minor final fixed for next Sunday in McHale Park at 2pm
Our minor team will face Ballinrobe in the County C final next Sunday at 2pm in McHale Park as a curtain raiser to the County Junior final. Please support the lads as they bid to do the double.

Minor team reach county final. Mayo Gaels 4-7 Kilmovee 1-6
Our minor team reached the county C final when they recorded a 4-7 to 1-6 win over Kilmovee in Hollymount on Saturday. Without a number of regulars due to injury they put in a fine second half performance to run out ten point winners. They face Ballinrobe in the final which has been provisionally fixed for next Sunday.

Minor county semi final changed to 3pm
The minors county C semi final with Kilmovee on Saturday has been changed to 3pm in Hollymount. Please support the lads as they bid for a place in the final.

U-13s lose out in league semi final. Moy Davitts 5-12 Mayo Gaels 2-5
Our U-13 team lost out in the league semi final when they ran out of legs against Moy Davitts on Monday evening. The final score line was Moy Davitts 5-12 Mayo Gaels 2-5.

Fixtures this week
Our U-13 team play Moy Davitts away on Monday at 6:30pm in the league semi final. The minor team play Kilmovee on Saturday in Hollymount at 3:45pm in the County C semi final.

U-13s qualify for league semi finals
Despite losing their final game away to a strong Carras side on Monday evening our U-13 team qualified for the league semi final. They will face Moy Davitts away next Monday evening at 6:30pm.

U-13s lose narrowly. Louisburgh 3-4 Mayo Gaels 2-4
Our U-13 team travelled to Louisburgh on Tuesday evening and were narrowly beaten by the home side. The final score was Louisburgh 3-4 Mayo Gaels 2-4. They play their final league game away to Carras on Monday evening still in with a chance of making the league semi finals.

Our U-13s team game with Louisburgh has been moved to Tuesday evening at 6:30pm in Louisburgh.

Big win for U-13s. Mayo Gaels 6-16 Ardmoy 1-7
Our U-13 team recorded a big win in Abbey Park on Friday evening. The easily over came Ardmoy on a final score line of 6-16 to 1-7. The play the South Mayo blitz in Kilmaine on Saturday and face Louisburgh at home on Monday.

U-11s go down bravely. Davitts 4-13 Mayo Gaels 3-7
Our U-11 team travelled to Ballindine on Thursday to play the second round of the South Mayo league. On an evening when you wouldn't put the dog out they put in a very brave performance before eventually going down on a score line of 4-13 to 3-7. They play Claremorris A away in the final round next Thursday.

South Mayo U-13 blitz in Kilmaine on Saturday
The South Mayo U-13 blitz has been scheduled to take place in Kilmane on Saturday. The Gaels will play Shrule-Glencorrib at 11:30am, Ballinrobe at 12pm, The Neale at 12:30 and Davitts at 1pm

Fixtures this week
Its a busy week on the fixtures front. The U-11s are away to Davitts on Thursday. The U-13s are home to Ardmoy on Friday and home to Louisburgh on Monday. They also play four games in the South Mayo blitz in Kilmaine on Saturday at 11:30am.

Minors win league title. Mayo Gaels 3-6 Kilmovee 1-9
A last burst in the final ten minutes when they scored 1-3 saw our minor team capture the county division 5 league title in McHale Park on Sunday with a 3-6 to 1-9 win over Kilmovee. Kilmovee lead 0-4 to 0-2 at halftime having played with the aid of a strong breeze. In a tense second half the sides were level with ten left 2-3 to 1-9. Shane Lyons and Joe Gilroy getting the Gaels goals. The Gaels finished strongly and an Adam Gallagher goal proved the crucial score to give the Gaels a 3-6 to 1-9 win.

U-14s lose out in County final. Mayo Gaels 1-8 Kilcommon 7-18
Our U-14 team put in a battling performance but eventually lost out to a much physically stronger and bigger Kilcommon side in the county division 5 championship final in McHale Park on Sunday afternoon. A few late goals gave Kilcommon a big win on a score line of 1-8 to 7-18. Kilcommon have comprehensively beaten each team this year and one wonders why they were in this division as they were much too good for all the teams.

Finals double hearder in McHale Park on Sunday
The U-14s and minors will play a double finals header in McHale Park on Sunday September 5th. The U-14s play Kilcommon in the division 5 championship final at 2:30pm. The minors play Kilmovee in the division 5 league final at 4pm. Our U-8s and U-10s also take part in the annual Balla blitz on Sunday. Please support both all our teams on this busy weekend for underage fixtures.

U-11s go down battling. Mayo Gaels 5-6 St Geralds 6-15
Our U-11 team kicked off their South Mayo campaign in Abbey Park on Thursday evening. A very young Gaels side but in a battling performance before eventually losing out to a stronger St Geralds side on a final score line of 5-6 to 6-15. They are away to Davitts next Thursday evening.

South Mayo U-13 blitz postponed
The South Mayo U-13 blitz which was scheduled to take place in Kilmane on Saturday has been postponed.

U-13 team pipped at the post. Moy Davitts 5-2 Mayo Gaels 5-1
Our U-13 team were pipped at the post by Moy Davitts in Foxford on Monday evening. In a game with ten goals they lost by a point on a final score line of Moy Davitts 5-2 Mayo Gaels 5-1.

U-16s County Champions!!! Mayo Gaels 1-11 Kiltane 1-10
Well done to our U-16 team who were crowned County Champions 2010 in McHale Park!!! It took all the Gaels battling qualities and nerve to finally over come a resilient Kiltane side and run out a nail biting one point winners on a final score line of Mayo Gaels 1-11 Kiltane 1-10. Match Report

Our U-13 team got their league campaign off to a fine start when the beat Kiltane in Abbey Park on Monday evening. The Gaels lads ran out 8-7 to 0-4 winners. Their next fixture is away to Moy Davitts on Monday next August 30th.

U-16 county final confirmed for Friday evening in McHale Park at 7:15pm
The U-16 county final has been confirmed for Friday evening in McHale Park at 7:15pm when the Gaels face Kiltane.

The U-14 division 5 championship final versus Kilcommon has been changed to Sunday September 5th in McHale Park at 2:30pm.

U-16s reach county final. Mayo Gaels 3-9 Moy Davitts 1-6
Our U-16 team reached the county final when a solid second half performance saw them overcome a dogged Moy Davitts side in Claremorris on Tuesday evening. The sides were evenly matched throughout the first half and only a Shane Lyons goal on the stroke of halftime separated the sides with the Gaels leading 2-3 to 1-3. Match Report

Our U-16 team captured the County League Division 3 title with a hard fought win over Kiltane in McHale Park this evening. Two goals at the start of the second half proved crutial. Match Report

U-16s win South Mayo title. Mayo Gaels 4-9 St Geralds 2-6
Our U-16 team won the South Mayo title for the fourth time and the first time since 1999 when they defeated St Geralds (Hollymount and Carramore) in Garrymore on Wednesday evening on a final score line of 4-9 to 2-6. Three first half goals from Kevin Lynch and two from Darren Prendergast setup the victory for the Gaels who lead at half time by 3-4 to 1-2. Match Report

South Mayo U-16 final time changed to 6:30 on Wednesday in Garrymore
Our U-16s team South Mayo final with St Geralds has been fixed for Wednesday in Garrymore at 6:30pm. Please support the team.

U-12s back to winning ways. Naomh Padraig 2-3 Mayo Gaels 4-10
Our U-12 team got back to winning ways in the summer league when they made the long journey to Kilfian and defeated the local amalgamation side Naomh Padraig. The Gaels lads ran out winners on a score line of Naomh Padraig 2-3 Mayo Gaels 4-10. This gives them four wins out of five in the summer league.

Well done to Paul Mannion who helped the Mayo minors to a 1-14 to 1-12 win over Offaly. They now face Tyrone in the All Ireland semi final.

U-16s reach South Mayo final. Mayo Gaels 3-18 Carras 2-2
A great second half performance gave our U-16 team a win over Carras and a place in the South Mayo final in Hollymount on Wednesday evening. The Gaels lead 0-8 to 1-2 at halftime but totally dominated the second half to run our 3-18 to 2-2 winners. They face St Geralds in the final next Wednesday evening August 4th in Garrymore, time to be confirmed.

U-12s lose first summer league game
Our U-12 team lost their first summer league game at home to The Neale on Monday. The Gaels put in a battling performance but lost out on a score line of 4-8 to 6-11. They are away to Naomh Padraig next Monday evening.

U-12s continue winning start to league
Our U-12 team continued their unbeaten start to the summer league when they overcame Carras in Abbey Park on Monday evening. The young Gaels lads ran out 9-13 to 4-8 winners. They are at home to The Neale next Monday.

Congratulations to Paul Mannion who lined out in goal for the Mayo minor team as they beat Galway 3-9 to 1-10 to capture the Connacht minor title. They now face Offaly in the All Ireland quarter final.

Adam and Paul selected for Mayo U-16 team
Well done to Adam Gallagher and Kevin Lynch who both have been selected for the Mayo South West U-16 team for the Ted Webb Cup.

U-16s reach league final. Mayo Gaels 4-15 Moy Davitts 0-5
Our U-16 team reached the league final with a big win over Moy Davitts at a wet Abbey Park on Tuesday evening. They ran out surprisingly easy winners on a final score line of 4-15 to 0-5. They face Belmullet or Kiltane in the final which is provisionally fixed for August 10th.

U-12s win in Bangor. Kiltane 3-8 Mayo Gaels 7-8
Well done to our U-12 team who made the long journey to Bangor on Monday evening and came away with a twelve point win. The final score was Kiltane 3-8 Mayo Gaels 7-8. They are at home to Carras next Monday.

U-16s league semi final fixed for Tuesday evening in Abbey Park at 7pm.
The U-16 league semi final with Moy Davitts has been fixed for Abbey Park on Tuesday at 7pm. Please support the lads as they bid for a place in the league final.

U-6s, U-8s and U-10s in action with St Geralds on Friday evening.
Our U-6, U-8 and U-10 teams will all line out on Friday evening in challange games with St Geralds. The games take place in Carramore's pitch behind Malachy Forde's. The U-10s will look to follow up their good showing in the games in Claremorris last Saturday.

U-14s win championship game. Mayo Gaels 7-13 St Geralds 6-11
Well done to our U-14 team who beat St Geralds in the championship at a wet Abbey Park on Thursday evening. In a very high scoring game they ran out five point winners on a score line of 7-13 to 6-11. The play Kilcommon at home next Thursday.

U-16s win final league game to qualify for semis. Moy Davitts 1-5 Mayo Gaels 2-9
Well done to our U-16 team who won their final league game to qualify for the league semi finals. They beat Moy Davitts at a wet Foxford on Tuesday evening on a final score line of 1-5 to 2-9. With five wins out of six they should be at home for the semi final.

Paul helps Mayo minors to Connacht final
Well done to Paul Mannion who lined out in goal for the Mayo minor team and help them to a place in the Connacht final with a 2-12 to 1-7 win over Leitrim. They face Galway in MacHale Park on July 19th. Unfortunately an ankle injury ruled him out of the Gaels intermediate championship game with Belmullet.

U-16s game away to Moy Davitts due to be played tomorrow has been postponed until Tuesday in Foxford at 7pm.

U-16 team back to winning ways in league. Mayo Gaels 3-9 Carras 3-7
Our U-16 team got back to winning ways in league at Abbey Park on Tuesday evening. It took a big effort to over come the combined talents of Garrymore and Kilmaine who have amalgamated at underage under the name Carras. The Gaels ran out narrow winners on a final score line of Mayo Gaels 3-9 Carras 3-7. They face Moy Davitts away on Saturday in their final league game.

Well done to Paul Mannion who lined out in goal for the Mayo minor team and helped them overcome Roscommon on Saturday. They face Leitrim in the Connacht semi final next weekend.

Paul Mannion makes Mayo minor championship team
Congrats to Paul Mannion who will line out in goal for the Mayo minor team in McHale Park on Saturday when they begin their championship campaign against Roscommon. Paul is the first Gaels players since Niall Brett in 2004, who coincidently also line out in goal, to start a championship game for Mayo minors. Best of luck to Paul and the team as they bid for a place in the Connacht semi against Leitrim.

U-16s suffer first league defeat. Belmullet 2-12 Mayo Gaels 2-11
Our U-16 team suffered their first league defeat of the season when they lost by the minimum away to Belmullet. The Gaels lads we pipped at the post by a point on a final score line of Belmullet 2-12 Mayo Gaels 2-11.

U-12s lose opening game in league. Eastern Gaels 9-10 Mayo Gaels 5-8
Our U-12 team lost their opening league game away to Eastern Gaels on Monday evening. The Gaels lads played well and put up an impressive score of 5-8 but lost out on a final score of 9-10 to 5-8. They are away to Tourmakeady next Monday evening.

U-16s remain unbeaten in league. Mayo Gaels 2-13 Ballinrobe 1-8
Our U-16s team remain unbeaten in the league when the recorded an eight point win over Ballinrobe in Abbey Park on Tuesday evening. The final score was Mayo Gaels 2-13 Ballinrobe 1-8. They face the long trip to Belmullet next Tuesday evening May 18th.

U-14s get first league win. Mayo Gaels 5-13 Parke 3-14
Well done to our U-14 team who got their first league win on Thursday evening with a five point win over Parke in Abbey Park. The Gaels ran out five point winners on a score line of 5-13 to 3-14. Their next game is at home to Tourmakeady on Thursday May 20th.

Paul Mannion selected for Mayo Minor Championship panel
Mayo Gaels would like to congratulate club player Paul Mannion on being selected for the 2010 Mayo Minor Championship panel. They face Roscommon on June 26th. Best of luck to Paul and his team mates.

Minor game cancelled
The minors game with Eastern Gaels due to be played to be played Friday evening has been cancelled as Eastern Gaels are unable to field a team. Mayo Gaels have sportingly agreed to play the game at a later date. Their next game is away to Ballinrobe on May 14th.

U-16s remain unbeaten. Kiltane 3-10 Mayo Gaels 7-1
Our U-16 team remain unbeaten after a real dogfight in Bangor on Tuesday evening. Anyone who has ever played in Bangor knows what a difficult place it is to get a result and the Gaels lads had to showed all their battling qualities and goal scoring prowess to come away with a 3-10 to 7-1 victory. Their next game is home to Ballinrobe on May 11th.

Congrats to Paul Mannion who was in goal for the Mayo minors last Saturday evening when they captured the Connacht Minor League beating Leitrim.

U-14s well beaten
Our U-14 team were well beaten at Abbey Park on Thursday by Cill Chomain. The final score was 1-10 to 5-14. They are away to Bonnicolon next Thursday evening.

U-16s beat Islandeady. Mayo Gaels 10-12 Islandeady 2-6
Our U-16s recorded a big win over Islandeady in the the second round of the league at a sunny Abbey Park on Tuesday evening. The Gaels lads ran out easy winners on a final score line Mayo Gaels 10-12 Islandeady 2-6. Their next game is in two weeks time when they face the long trip to Kiltane on April 27th.

Minor team get a walkover
Our minor team were awarded a walkover as Claremorris were unable to field a team on Sunday morning. They are not getting much football played this season but have two wins from two. Their next game is home to Kilmovee on Friday week, April 23rd.

Minor game abandoned due to unfortunate injury
Our minor team's game with Ballinrobe was abandoned ten minutes into the second half due to an unfortunate injury to Paul Mannion. The Gaels were leading 5-6 to 1-1 at the time. The club would like to wish Paul a speedy recovery.

Our U-16 team opened their league campaign with a big win away to Breaffy on Tuesday evening. The final score was Breaffy 1-3 Mayo Gaels 7-12. They face Islandeady at home next Tuesday evening, April 13th.

Minors get points in bizarre circumstances
The Bord Na nOg 2010 campaign started on Sunday when our minors were awarded the game away to play Eastern Gaels. The game ended in bizarre circumstances when despite leading by two points Eastern Gaels were forced to concede the game due to injuries to two players and no replacements available.

CPR & Defibrillator course
Several Bord Na nOg officers and parents participated in a CPR & Defibrillator course in Ballindine (last Thursday 11th). Mayo Gaels will shortly position the Club's Defibrillator to a fixed point near the clubhouse.

Quiz night
Mayo Gaels Bord Na nOg Committee wish to thank everyone who attended the Bord Na nOg Quiz Night held in the Shebeen Bar, Balla on Friday the 5th of March. A great night was enjoyed by everyone.

Mayo Gaels Bord na nOg will hold a Quiz Night in the Shebeen Bar, Balla on the 5th of March at 9.00pm. € 40.00 per table of 4/5 players. Please support this worthy cause.

Bord na nOg Presentation
A large crowd attended the 2009 Bord na nOg presentation on Sunday evening in the Beaten Path when pride of place went to the U-15 and minor teams who won county league titles. There were numerous presentations to all our young stars. Special guests were Mayo footballers Mark Ronaldson and Donal Vaughan. Their personal dignity and physical integrity are paramount and participation in sport should enable them to have fun, make friends and become better players. Bord na nOg membership fees for 2010 are €20 per child and €15 for each additional child per family. Parents may registrar players on Presentation Night on Sunday Feburary 21th in the Beaten Path at 6pm.
